From Generational Craftsmanship to Global Recognition

1960s

Shree Tulsidasbhai Pitambarbhai Dhakan, working from a small retail outlet in Virnagar, Gujarat, embarked to Rajkot on the back of a bus with a vision to establish jewellery manufacturing on a larger scale. Back then, he could only see from one of his eyes. But he still managed to work for leading exports such as Bherumal, TBZ, etc. Shri Tulsidas Pitambarbhai Dhakan led to make a difference. With only one working eye, he left for the infamous city of Rajkot from Virnagar (a small village about 70km from Rajkot) with a vision. Who was once an essential part of the family business of gold jewellery retail shop in virnagar, had now dreamt to expand into jewellery manufacturing.

1970s

after gaining a decade of experience in manufacturing gold jewellery on job-work basis, our founder; Shri Harshad Tulsidasbhai Dhakan joined the family business aged only

In the late 90s, our Managing Director, Shree Mehul Harshad Dhakan sacrificed his formal 12th grade education and joined the family business. Back then, what was only a small workshop was about to turn into a full-fledged manufacturing facility. He had humble beginnings, aged only 18, he started M/S Momai Art Jewellery.

1980s–1990s

In no time, our Managing Director was nicknamed ‘Mehul Mala’ because of our mastery in the production of gold malas and mangalsutaras. We were no longer just a traditional workshop as Shree Mehulbhai had imported our first italian gold bead manufacturing plant.
